BC Hydro is experimenting with their new WiMAX wireless Smart Meter program on the Gulf Islands. We oppose the blanketing of our communities with an enormous hazardous wireless grid. We insist on our right to an open public consultation and choice in what is implemented in our homes and communities.
Gulf Islanders For Safe Technology is comprised of concerned island residents who have formed an ad hoc group to demand the right to have input on BC Hydro’s proposed WiMAX Smart Meter grid that will eventually blanket much of our communities with electromagnetic radiation. The Gulf Islands is one of the many communities recently selected as a test area for BC Hydro’s WiMAX Smart Meter grid yet island citizens were not notified and/or afforded the opportunity to give input or consent on BC Hydro’s experiment.
